Sevice mode: Top 4-Digit Codes for Major TV Brands
Because universal remotes are made by different brands (like RCA, GE, One For All, or Philips), they use different code lengths and programming steps.
To get your remote working, find your TV brand below and use the setup steps to lock it in.
1. Top 4-Digit Codes for Major TV Brands
If your remote requires a 4-digit code (the most common format for modern remotes), try these top-verified codes first:
Samsung: 3831, 0060, 0178, 1047
LG: 1423, 0178, 2182, 0030
Sony: 3611, 0000, 1300, 0810

2. How to Program Your Remote (Manual Method)
The exact button combination depends slightly on the brand of the remote control you are holding:
For GE and RCA Remotes
1
Hold the Setup button
Until the light stays on
Press and hold the SETUP button on the remote until the red or parameter light turns on and stays lit.
2
Press the TV button
The light will blink once
Press and release the TV button on the remote.
3
Enter the code
Using the number pad
Type in the 4-digit code for your TV brand. The indicator light will shut off if the code is accepted.
4
Test the buttons
Point the remote at your TV and try the Power and Volume buttons. If they don't work, repeat the process with the next code in the list.
For One For All Remotes
- Hold down the MAGIC or SETUP button until the LED blinks twice.
- Press the TV device button.
- Enter the code. The LED will blink twice to show it succeeded.
3. No Code Working? Use Auto-Search
If none of the direct codes are responding, you can force the remote to cycle through its entire internal library until it finds a match.
- Turn your TV on manually.
- Press and hold the SETUP (or MAGIC) button until the light stays on.
- Press and release the TV button once.
- Point the remote at the TV and press the POWER button repeatedly (slowly, every 2–3 seconds).
- The moment the TV shuts off, immediately press the ENTER or SAVE button on your remote to lock that profile in.
